My China

My Grandma Bonella (my fathers mom) left me beautiful blue and white china. As a young girl she would always show me the different dishes and tell me I could have them when I was older. Since Phil and I don't have a 'real' house (Phil will get a kick out of that statement) I have my china stored at my parents storage. They are all neatly wrapped and snuggle fit into Rubbermaid bins and we are now on the home stretch for getting our 'real' house.

Tonight my mom sends me this picture on my phone.

This is what is left of the storage unit. They had a micro burst in Washington today and it flattened the storage units, our was the worst one hit. There was no way to even get to it to see if there was anything salvageable. So I survived the tornadoes of Iowa, the floods of Iowa, and my one belonging left in Utah is now under rubble. Maybe the Rubbermaid containers and our great packing will bring us a miracle.

Did everyone see the great Olympic opening ceremonies in China? So good, lots of fun fireworks and cool effects.

HOLY Cow! how awful! I am so sorry. I hope you find at least a few treasures in the rubble.

My mom sent me a picture of that storage unit too. I'm sorry to hear about your stuff! I hope you will be able to salvage the china at least.

Oh, my goodness! It does look like a tornado hit. Who would have thought? Crazy weather everywhere. Let us know what your family was able to salvage.

What the?? That is CRAZY! I hope you can get a lot of the stuff out safe. Mike was wondering about Phils golf clubs too...not nearly as important as the china of course!

Hooray!! I think the dishes are saved! The shelf they were on wasn't crushed, the tubs haven't been opened yet but my mom thinks they should be ok!

Disaster is trying to find you one way or another. When you eat on those dishes you can add that to the story about them.

Well, those Rubbermaid commercials say they SAVE everything - remember the Wedding Dress that was (in a rubbermaid) in the house fire? If your china survive the catastrophe, you need to write to the rubbermaid company with your story and YOU could be the STAR of one of their new commercials!! OR you could get a lifetime of rubbermaid products or money or something -- and then you could share it with me for giving you the idea!! :)
