Update

NATHAN- Getting his first tooth, so we thought, turns out to be his first four teeth-ALL AT ONCE. OUCH!! He is usually only sad before bed and early in the morning, so it could be worse. He is starting to wave and say hey (with a little grunt mixed in) when he sees the little girl babies around, it is super funny.

ALYSSA- Funny as ever. She is getting over her 'TV habit' and really enjoys her new doll house. She thinks McKell is the greatest thing ever and wants to be and do everything like her. She loves her gymnastic class and is always performing things for me. She 'sounds' out words -just mimics what she has heard McKell do but it is so funny cause she is so little. When asked what she would like to do all day she says 'I would love to eat all day'. Is enjoying being in the 'big' Sunbeam class at church.

MCKELL- Is still loving school and is turning into quite a good reader. She really enjoys math and likes to do little math problems that I write down for her- loves math just like her parents. She lives for her dance class each week and performed at a local JV basketball game. When I was picking up car pool last week the kids were involved in quite the kindergarten saga. Some boy had turned out the lights in the hallway and it was the biggest deal ever! Seriously you should have heard them talking, I was dieing.

PHIL- Is doing his Cardiology rotation and enjoying it. He is doing home call, it is so nice that he doesn't have to be at the hospital unless they call him in. He hurt his finger playing basketball the other night and thinks it might be broken, I don't.:) We went to a work party Friday night and it was so fun to see him joking around and talking to everyone that he is around all day- I don't get to see the Dr. (work) side of him too often. We went to the stake volleyball tournament yesterday morning. It was a lot of fun to play volleyball together, our team got second place.

NICOLE- Here is my update on my resolutions, people are wondering how I am doing with them all. Scripture reading- ok can do better, lipstick- check, exercise- doing ok not up to 5 days a week yet, go green- check-only 1 bottle of water so far, bed- done it a few times- need to be better, rs lessons- check, H2O- need to keep working on doing it every day, christmas cards-ask me in about 8 months, calling a friend- check- a very fun one, library- check, friend magazine- hmm how many days left to do it?, sunday tv- check, Alyssa tv- doing excellent, wake-up- ok, still hate it, pat. blessing- check, floss- check, scrapbook table- started- but not cleaned off just yet, clothes and shoes- check, scrapbook- not just yet, vote- sure will, temple- need to schedule the date, vegetables- doing ok but need to be better, VT- check.
OK that was super boring for all of you but you asked. I have more to add but I don't know if I can come up with them all, any thing I am missing?

OTHER THINGS- Super sad about President Hinckley, but can only smile when I think of him getting to be with his wife again. Can't wait to see my mom in a few weeks. A friend, Steve, is staying with us for a few weeks. Alyssa calls him Joe (from Blue's clues there is a Steve and Joe, so I guess she thought she could just choose which one was his name. Not enjoying the freezing artic cold and hoping it will stay warm (above freezing) till spring.

Winter Blahs!

I think I have the winter blahs. I don't know what it is... the on going winter season with no sight of it ending. The growing list of resolutions on my side bar.:) The 'normal' lows after the highs of the holiday season. Missing my family in Utah. The fact that I haven't seen my old friend for too long.
I just can't seem to get motivated to do anything super productive. I have a huge list of projects that are calling my name, but I have been sitting down playing trains with Nate (thanks Kasey), and reading Valentine books with the girls. I haven't been taking naps or watching tv, just not motivated to accomplish anything.
To do: get Nate's 9 month pictures taken
scrapbook
finish wood project
finish sewing projects
scrapbook
work on church projects
learning and playing with photoshop
find a money tree

So anyway any wonderful ideas (besides going on a tropical vacation) that you might have would be greatly appreciated!

Go Packers!!!

When we lived in Milwaukee we lived in the GREATEST neighborhood. Everyone was so friendly and outgoing. Every Greenbay Packer game was a neighboorhood event- tv's outside with a fresh keg of homemade beer for whoever wanted to partake, bbqing brats and chicken wings, kids playing in the huge blowup jumping cage. Seriously, it was like this all summer long and for the games. During the winter months they would all pile into the house or have a fire outside and watch the game.
In the Milwaukee spirit we got together with some friends we met in Milwaukee and watched the game in Des Moines. It was so fun to watch the game with Josh and Heather, Josh grew up in Milwaukee so he is a Packer through and through. I loved that it was totally snowing the whole time. So next week party again. If you want to come over we are going to be watching it and hopefully celebrating the fact that they are going to the super bowl (so happy Dallas lost!).

Funny story about Milwaukee- they are HUGE, CRAZY fans there for their Packers. We lived there when the sniper's were loose in the DC area. One fay my mom called and said they had just found them, so I turned on the news and the 5:00 pm news was just about to start. BREAKING NEWS: Brett Favre is going to the doctor to get his knee looked at. Here he is getting out of the car, here he is going into the clinic. 5 minutes later.... in other news... they caught the DC sniper that has killed ? many people.
Seriously it was so crazy! They are NUTS about the Packers. They have the Packer flag flying above their American flags at some homes. Anyway, Go Pack!

Phil has seen the light!

Actually, Phil has heard the music! Phil has a new love- so sorry ESPN, but don't worry he can do both at the same time. He has finally discovered the iPod. Last night was the euphoric moment and I think his life might be complete now. He wore it all night and took it with us to bed where he selected a few songs for us to listen to while we both played our hand held solitaire. Did you know this about us? I play solitaire and Phil has Yahtzee right now, I think.
I should do a post about Phil's list of 6 things he loves, you all probably know too much about me. I can say pretty much anything cause Phil doesn't read this very much if at all. So here it is- a post about Phil.

1. Phil loves all things sports- watching, playing, talking about. All sports whenever, whoever, whatever.

2. Phil is a clean freak! Marsha are all your boys like this? Phil loves a nice and tidy home, he stresses a little about mess. We got our huge box (weighed 95 lbs) yesterday from Christmas and I opened it and everything was all over when he got home and he was totally appalled that I would open it with out having time to put it all away. Don't worry it was all put away last night before bed.

3. Phil loves music. You probably guessed this from the iPod experience. He likes alternative music the best I would say. The new, funky bands he is usually up on.

4. Phil loves to dance. So romantic, huh. The waltz, pretty much anything ballroom. Just kidding, sorry I couldn't resist. He really does love to dance, but it is the club kind of dancing he likes. He would love to go out dancing at a local club for date night. Poor Nate wouldn't fit in too well, though.

5. Phil is very athletic. He is very good at most anything he tries in regards to playing sports. He loves to play volleyball, basketball, ski, he played soccer in college.

6. Phil isn't quiet. This might be a shock to some of you, but he is very not quiet. When he gets to know you I guess he opens up. But it is so funny cause people ask, so does he ever talk loud or get mad or anything. The answer is yep, just like the rest of us.

Lets hear about your guys- everyone who reads this you are tagged! 6 things we don't know about your guy.

SUPER Caucus

Since we live in Iowa we get to go to the super caucus. We all went- Phil, Me and the three kiddies in the stroller. McKell brought my ipod, Alyssa the Leapster, and Nate added in with a very poopie diaper. We brought snacks for the kids and friends that we would see. We got to vote for our candidate and it was a fun thing to experience. There were a TON of people there, they called in the fire chief because the room was so over capacity.
We thought it was funny that they called it a SUPER caucus and we also thought it was funny to hear the kids say caucus all night. We were ready to leave and Alyssa said "No I don't want to leave, I want to stay at the caucus." She loves any place that she can eat all the snacks she wants and play games and not have to go to bed.

Happy New Year!

We sure hope you all had a fun and safe New Years Eve and are getting a great start to 2008. Phil and I were remembering back to 1999 when everyone thought that life as we knew it was going to be over because it was going to be the year 2000. Remember?...all the computers were going to crash, the world was going to come to an end... and look it is already 2008. Wow how time flies!
So I am enjoying my little side bar action where I update the list everyday. What do you think- should I continue? Does anyone look at or care what my list contains? I thought it would be fun to do new year's resolutions- do you think I can come up with 31? Probably, but it might just turn into a to do list. Oh well... I will give it a try and maybe I will add some that others tell me. So if you have one I should add to my list throughout the month please let me know. Again- happy 2008!
