It has taken a week to get this posted. Last Thursday (our early out school day) I decided to venture out with friends to the fossil gorge. I have only been there one other time and there was no water so I didn't expect all the water. Anyway, we had been there for about an hour- the kids were all having fun catching tad poles. Nate was doing good playing and every once in a while splashing water and mud at the edge of the small pools of water. I had Zach on my stomach in the carrier standing on a little ledge, 3 other moms right by me and 2 dads roaming with the kids. We watch Nate walk over to the edge of the deepest part of water and either he slipped or he tried to stomp and splash water and one of his feet went in the water, then his other foot, then the swampy water started to pull him and his bum went under, then his back, then his arms, then his head and finally Jen (thanks AGAIN) grabbed his leg right before his whole face was under the nasty water. I was still standing where I had been, I never thought I would be a freezer, I sure hope it was the fact I saw Jen running and I couldn't get to him with Zach strapped to me. Nate was speechless for the whole ride home and during his shower.
I would like to say my other kids were ok but Alyssa must have had sunscreen dripping in her eyes the whole time we were there because her eyes were bright red, they were perfect when she got out of the shower. Zach slept the whole time until we started walking to the car and he did a giant poop and cried and was hungry.

Very brave (or stupid) to go out that soon after giving birth! That's why I don't go out unless I have to! :)
It's got to count for something that you were even willing to try...furthermore, none of your kids have been to the ER in the last week I assume? So you are doing better than we are.
Look at Alyssa's eyes. It's making mine water. You are one brave woman. Thank goodness Jen was there and grabbed him. How scary. It looks like fun up there. We'll have to go again when I don't have a headache that is actually a SINUS INFECTION!
Oh Nicole!! How I remember those first few days alone with 4. Good Heck!
Cute pics though.
AND most darling baby announcement!!!!!
PS it gets better! :)
It does get better! You just forget how much time a newborn takes. But all of the sudden he will be 2 1/2 like my 4th one and you will wonder where the time went! I'm glad everything turned out okay. And good luck with everything! :)
SOOOO SCARY! Poor Nate. Okay poor Alyssa as well...man that looks painful!
Ok, you are brave, I rarely left my house with four kids. Well unless I was with good friends. But not that soon. OH and I LOVE you announcents you should totally go into business you could make some money. Have you ever seen how much just a printed announcment is online? You are very creative and talented. I don't know how you found the time. But they are really cute.
Poor Nate, Poor Alyssa, and mostly POOR NICOLE! I can totally relate. You just want to get out and do some normal, fun things and then all he** breaks loose. I'm still feeling that and my baby is 1! But, it will get better. I'm totally cracking up at Alyssa's eyes. It's so sad, but funny. Better luck next time :)
Laughing out loud-some days are just like that! It makes me wonder why we try to leave the house, but it's always worth a try, right?!?!?
Nicole!! What a bad day! I'm guessing you're a freezer because you could be - If it was only you you would have been right there, jumping in after him. What a pain. Sorry. I have to say, though, that the picture of Nate standing there all wet is pretty cute, actually. Summer time and no school is a rude awakening with a new baby. At least they sleep a lot and he is so cute!
Nic, I can feel your pain and I only have three! Not sure we will ever make it to #4!!
I love the birth announcement!!! So great! It will be on my board for a long time.....we had an MCW BBQ the other day and everyone was ohhhing and ahhing! You are amazing.
That picture of Alyssa is hilarious. Poor girl! Sounds like Fossil Gorge is NOT the place to go this year. Scary things are happening there. Glad Nate was OK! Go Jen!
WOW-scary! Poor Nate, I'm glad all ended well. Alyssa's picture looks so sad. You are amazing to venture out!
Nikki-poo, you are AMAZING! Always have been, always will be!
Alyssa's EYES!!!! So sad!
Nate's face in that one pic is priceless!!
Nicole, you are so adventurous. Glad Nate is alright. I saw an ad in a magazine for tearless sunscreen for kids made by Banana Boat. Might be worth a try.
