Boy, Oh Boy!

In college, I took my human development and child psychology classes and when we were discussing the influences of environment vs genetics I was very interested. I thought the environment played a bigger roll in how people turned out and what kinds of things they liked. Well, having kids has made me think differently.
Nate is very much a BOY. He digs through our giant basket of toys to find the lightsaber the girls got last Christmas, how does he know that is a boy toy (pretty much the only boy toy we have in there). He is interested in the wheels of Alyssa's scooter, any kind of ball, and the electronic gagets lying around. He could care less about the millions of stuffed animals the girls have or the billions of dolls sitting here or there (unless they are little enough for him to put in his mouth and bite on their heads-see earlier post about teething).

He is the first of my children to open a kitchen cupboard and play with the pans, unroll toilet paper, pull out the griddle. Don't worry, he doesn't have time to play with his messes. His sisters are right there when they hear or see him and they quickly move him and put things away. As much as I like the help I kinda feel bad for the little guy not being able to really get into it. Nate will be 10 months old on Tuesday and he has been so much fun.

He looks like a toddler now! So cute. I know what you mean about the boy thing- there are definite differences from the start. I love that the girls take care of him!

Priceless. Izzy was a toilet paper player/eater too. Love the picture with Alyssa and Nate!

He is so cute! Yeah, we never realized how different they were until our first son came along and got into everything and colored on anything but paper. Now boy number two is doing the same thing. Lexi hated messes:)
I had heard about your little boy you lost, so sorry. I never thought at the age of 22 we would be going through something like that. Good to see we both have three beautiful healthy kids now:)

How Fun! I can't wait to see him in 7 days!!! I bet it is great to have both a boy and girls so you can see the difference. It is crazy that they are so different.

Nicole,
This is Robilyn's mother-in-law. I hope you don't mind that I read your cute blog. I just wanted to tell you that I like your month's resolutions. I think I will adopt some of them myself. They're great!

Great post. Nate is totally all boy! It's exhausting keeping up with them! I can't believe how big he is getting. It is crazy how fast they grow up!

He's so cute. How nice would that be to have helpers clean up. Drew is very much the same way, we go through rolls of toilet paper simply because of him. Cute pictures, oh ah and Thank you so much for the help on the lay out of my blog.

Nate is too cute! Jack did this same thing. I used to think sitting any toys around him was fine and they were all Issy's girl toys. he used to cry all the time. Finally I put him down at my friends house surrounded by boy toys and he played for hours. Isn't it crazy that they just know so young.

I love boys, they are great.

Nate is sooooo big (and DARLING)!! Aren't boys hillarious? It really is neat how they really are little men from the beginning. So FUN!!
