Quitting the blog, starting school

It has been so long since I have posted something new I am tempted to stop my blog all together. I am getting a little 'old fashioned' about the whole keeping in touch thing. I think this blog thing has made it so people don't call on the telephone as much to see how things are going, hardly any cards are sent in the mail, and people don't come to visit so they can see the family or how the kids have changed. I wonder if I stopped blogging would I get some visitors at my house? It is our last year here. Maybe if no one heard from me they would call to see how things are going? Or I would get something in the mail besides bills... thinking about closing down this blog...
I probably shouldn't, I haven't blogged since June and no extra communications have been happening, I think have had a couple of comments on my blog to start blogging so I guess that is where we stand. This is the new form of communication, I better get used to it and start posting a few new posts a week. Well, maybe I shouldn't get too ambitious.

The girls started school last week, on Thursday (Phils birthday). Alyssa is going to preschool 5 days a week and McKell started 2nd grade.
Last Tuesday we went and met McKell's teacher and saw who was in her class. She normally is super school child and lives for it. When she saw that she didn't have any girl friends in her class she was NOT a happy camper. She wouldn't even talk to her teacher. Then she was very negative about school. Thursday morning came and we got her ready and I dropped her off and she walked into school. When I picked her up she told me she started crying when I dropped her off and the principal was outside and helped her in and found her class. She was still crying and her teacher asked what she could do to help and she said maybe she could sit by one of the girls that she knew. She sat there for a few minutes and then went to her desk. She then told me that everything was fine the rest of the day and everyone forgot about it. (I assume this is what the teacher told her, way to go teacher!) She couldn't stop talking about going back the next day and on Friday she was sad cause it was the weekend and there was no school. So glad she turned back into her school loving self!
Nate didn't know what to do with himself and was so sad the first day of school. But we are finding him fun things to do and he loves picking up Alyssa at her school.

FINALLY an update! I have been wondering what happened to you! Your girls look great! They look excited for the first day!

Don't quit blogging, seriously...think of it as your own personal journal. hee, hee

P.S. Are you still going to N.O.??? I don't think I will. I think we'll get Riley's mom to come sometime when we can take a vacation without him going to conferences.

Finally. Yes you need to keep your blog. You don't need to post all the time just an monthly update. I still call you as much as I always have, right? You girls look darling, of course. Hope all is well on the home front.

Keep blogging! You are right though, people do use this as their form of communication. I'll try to be better about calling. I can't promise a cute card though, cause you'd have to make it. :-)
